Lazy Sundays

This is how I picture lazy Sundays ….

A long lounge waiting for someone to lie down and slowly observe what life wafts past the window to the world outside.

There is no one around and the old house makes its old noises and a washing machine hums in the background.

Some birds are chirping and every once in a while a car passes; just to remind me that I am not truly alone … not yet.

And Sunday slowly makes its way around the old clock ticking on the old wall … there is so much life and so much going on … I just need to get myself organised then I too can be busy.

But I don’t … I like my lazy Sunday afternoon too much … so I’ll stay here and plan my next photograph … and regret I did not get myself organised.

I worked out the new setup … Canon camera and Fujian lens.

This is the Canon EOS M3 which I just love!

It’s got a C to EOS-M adapter fitted so the Fujian CCTV C mount screw type lens can be attached to a Canon EOS M3 for “normal” photography via a CCTV lens and/or …

with the addition of the little extension tube (yes, that ring thing) the lens is modified to behave like a macro lens … I thought the ring thing was required for infinity focus … so when I took it out for a spin yesterday, I was confused about why I couldn’t focus the lens to infinity and I put it down to bad design … wrong.

The ring thing is designed to be used for macro photography when desired and normal photography when the ring thing is not fitted.

I am really surprised at the quality of the images that come out from this combination. Both macro and normal photography results are astonishingly great fun to capture.

All for $45.00 delivered from China free.

My town … I love it here … as does Midnight the cat …

It’s a little bit of a relaxed kind of town … but it’s great …here’s the Main Street … Argyle Street.

John Street looking towards St John’s Anglican Church on the hill …

Then looking East down Argyle Street … Ove those Jacarandas … coming into Spring so the flowers are starting to show ….

Then looking North across Argyle Street … twice …

Then a bit of a side-track … I just love this old building and how that window has a view .. to nothing.

A bit of history for this old old town …

Some of the old style coming through …and the new set of lights for Camden … progress do we really need it?

And finishing off with some Alfie … the new dog in Camden.

For $45 (including adapter) it’s like making your camera into a toy …

The lens pretty much behaves like a macro lens … I’ve ordered an EOS adapter to use with the EOS to EOS M adapter to try and enable infinity focus on the M3 … I’ll let you know how that goes … but I had fun today with this lens out in the Wollongong Botanic Gardens.

Similar shot in B&W …

For a $45 CCTV lens about the diameter of a $0.50 cent piece it’s pretty good!

These photos are not touched up in any way post shot. I set the Canon M3 to shoot monochrome in the Custom programmable setting on the mode dial and used manual aperture, ISO, shutter speed and lens focus … colour mode in Manual was used for all the colour shots … love this new lens for macro shots and can’t wait for the $4.99 adapter from China to arrive to see if I can use it for infinity shots … soon!

Bird 🐦 of paradise … altogether now, aahhhhh …

Some berries …

Cacti and flowers …

Then seeds and flowers and then …

More cacti …

And leaves …

All in all pretty happy with the new lens …

On my latest August walk … look what I found …

Art! In the Wollongong Botanic Gardens … art?!

I just love the shadows … and I like the subtle differences in these shots …. am I allowed to like my own shots more than others?

What about these? Kind of like a belly button … but on a tree?!

Love the lines in the tree trunk … and the flowers … I should have been born in the 60s!

Some bracketing action above … [ ]

A big old leaf below …

And some bridge work …

Then a lonely old bench …

Some more big flowers …

A bit of light on water …

Some bendy tree branches …

Some art installations at UOW … with a background dude …

And a flourish of flowers to finish up with …

Ahhh lovely … ciao.
